Water Distribution Systems
Chatfield Engineers, P.C. is a leader in the municipal engineering world when it comes to design and construction of water distribution systems for towns and villages. Our experience with water distribution systems ranges from rural water district extensions to replacement of distribution systems within close confines of village water systems. In addition, our distribution system experience includes transmission lines, creek and canal crossings, railroad crossings and working in high traffic areas including business districts and Main Streets.
As we begin the planning process with our communities, we are continually looking for ways to finance the projects leveraging grant and loan funds from multiple sources such as USDA Rural Development, NYS Office of Community Renewal, Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) through the NYS Environmental Facilities Corporation, among other sources that are available from time to time. Our experience with those funding agencies helps to streamline the process and to progress the projects along to completion.
We have prepared well over 100 Map, Plans and Reports (MPR’s) for water districts, one of the first steps necessary to progress a project through the water district formation process. We work closely with the municipal attorneys responsible for creating the necessary districts through the NYS Office of Comptroller.
Our water distribution systems experience has resulted in providing thousands of people with public water, thereby improving the lives of many. In addition, we have completed water distribution systems that have included the construction of water storage tanks, booster pump stations, pressure reducing vaults, meter pits and other water system appurtenances.
Our experienced staff of design professionals oversee the Design and Construction Phase Services associated with each project. Our staff of seasoned veteran Resident Project Representatives oversees the Construction Phase of each project, observing the work being completed by the contractors and coordinating the construction activities with our clients, business owners and residents.
