Storm Water and Erosion Control

Protecting our environment is of utmost importance to the Chatfield Engineers Staff.

As municipal engineer for over 50 communities, we commonly review development plans that may have a significant impact on the surrounding environment. We review those plans with close attention to the proposed storm water systems and erosion control measures. If problems occur as a result of development, it is likely that it will be with some form of drainage problem.

We are experienced with the preparation of Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP’s) that are required for Projects greater than 1 acre of disturbance.

We have completed several drainage studies in our communities to evaluate drainage concerns, identify drainage problems and provide solutions to the problems encountered.

The projects completed include stream and creek clearing projects, storm sewer installations, construction of storm water detention ponds and improving deteriorated storm water detention ponds.

Our experience with storm water and erosion control projects includes the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), US Army Corp of Engineers and the local Soil and Water Conservation Offices.
