Town of Bergen Town Hall Roof
The Town of Bergen retained Chatfield Engineers, P.C. to provide the design and construction phase services for completion of a new roof system for the aging Town of Bergen Town Hall and adjacent storage barn. The original Town Hall roof structure was a flat roof that historically leaked into the building.
We teamed with Simbari Design Architecture, PLLC. for completion of the project design and construction phase services. The project was let for bids to contractors specializing in general carpentry and roof construction. We received competitive bids from 14 contractors.
The work consisted of installing a new pitched wooden trussed hip roof with architectural shingles, installation of drainage gutters and downspouts, installation of a decorative covering of the fire siren, and re-roofing an existing storage barn.
This work was completed without disruption of the Town Hall function during the summer of 2009 at a cost under $70,000.
