Paul R. Chatfield, P.E.

Paul R. Chatfield, P.E. established Chatfield Engineers, P.C. with the goal to provide responsive, high-quality engineering services to Town's, Village's and other Governmental Agencies.  As Principal-in-Charge, Paul oversees the day-to-day operation of the Firm, business and client development, and mentoring of the Firm’s personnel.

Paul graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in 1983, with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering Technology Degree, and gained valuable cooperative education experience, including working at the Town of Henrietta 2.0-MGD Wastewater Treatment Plant, Monroe County Pure Waters Agency, and Skanex Pipe Services. 

Paul obtained his Professional Engineering License in both Pennsylvania and New York State.  His variety of field experience and work as a Project Engineer/Manager on municipal projects for nearly 10 years before starting his own firm helped shape his practical approach to design solutions.

Paul also serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Civil Engineering Technology Department at Rochester Institute of Technology.  In addition, Paul is a frequent guest speaker and presenter to trade associations, schools, and civic organizations on topics such as Listening and Communication in the Workplace, Dealing with Difficult People, Team Building/Trust Building, Improving Workplace Productivity and other relevant technical topics.

Paul has extensive experience with planning, design and construction of the following: 

  • General Civil and Municipal Engineering.
  • Water Treatment, Storage and Distribution Systems.
  • Wastewater Treatment, Pumping and Collection Systems.
  • Road Design, Bridge Reconstruction, and Culvert Replacement.
  • Stormwater Management Facilities and Drainage Systems.
  • Parks, Recreational Facilities, and Municipal Buildings.
  • Development Review and Property Sub-division Review.

Community Activities:

Paul is an active member of the Greece Rotary Club, is a former Commissioner of the Town of Greece Historical Preservation Commission, serves as Chairman of the Greece Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and previously served on the Board of Management for the Northwest YMCA.  He also serves as a Director for the Genesee Valley/Monroe County American Public Works Association, and is active in the Western New York Water Works Conference. 

Paul has developed strong client relationships through hard work, dedication, listening, clear communication of expectations, and truly caring for the needs of his clients.

Paul and his wife Sue reside in the Town of Irondequoit with the greatest yellow lab in the world, Charley.  Paul is also the proud father of Andrew and Emily and step-father to Jessica.  All three children are currently pursuing their college education.
